Privacy Policy

When you sign in with Google, GVocab receives the information needed to authenticate and manage your account, including your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier. GVocab does not request or store your Google password.

You can use many learning features without signing in. Features such as data synchronization, Groups, Ranking and public sharing may require an account.

GVocab stores data you create or generate while learning, including sets, folders, vocabulary cards, uploaded content and images, learning progress, review history and SRS data. This data is processed to store and synchronize content, support learning and perform actions you request.

Private learning content is not made public to other users unless you actively share or publish it.

GVocab and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device, access time and diagnostic information to operate, secure and improve the service.

GVocab uses cookies and browser storage for necessary purposes, including maintaining a login session, remembering your interface language and measuring feature usage.

The session cookie is configured as HttpOnly so browser JavaScript cannot directly read its value. Disabling necessary cookies may affect the app.

GVocab uses Google Analytics to understand how people interact with the platform, such as page views and learning events. GVocab does not intentionally send your name, email or private set content to Google Analytics.

GVocab will provide a choice mechanism for non-essential cookies where required by law.

GVocab uses Google Gemini for features such as Reading and Writing practice. When you actively use these features, the vocabulary and necessary input are sent to Google Gemini through GVocab's server to generate practice content or feedback.

GVocab does not intentionally include your name, email address or account identifier in these AI requests.

Data sent to Gemini may be processed by Google under the terms and policies that apply to the API service used by GVocab. GVocab does not independently use private learning content to train AI models; retention or use by the AI provider depends on its applicable policy and service configuration.

Avoid entering sensitive personal information or unnecessary confidential data when using AI features.

GVocab integrates Google for sign-in, Google Analytics, Gemini AI and embedded YouTube videos; Cloudflare R2 for image storage; Openverse and Wikimedia Commons for image search; and optional Pexels searches when you provide your own API key.

Image-search services may receive requests directly from your browser. If you use Pexels with your own API key, the key is stored in your browser's localStorage; under the current integration, GVocab does not receive or store that key on its server.

When you interact with an embedded YouTube video, YouTube may collect and process data under Google's policies. Each provider has its own terms and privacy policy.

Information may be shown to other users when you make a set or folder public, create or join a Group, take part in Ranking or share content through a public profile.

Visible information may include your name, profile picture, join date, content you made public and learning results related to the community feature you use.

GVocab does not intentionally publish your email address or private learning progress on a public profile. However, shared content may be accessed, saved or reshared by others.

If you use email invitations, the provided address is processed to send the invitation and for directly related activity.

GVocab applies reasonable technical and organizational measures, including authentication, secure connections, access controls and infrastructure protections, to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss or disclosure.

Data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain your account and meet legal obligations. When you request account deletion, GVocab processes deletion or anonymization under its current procedures, except for data that must lawfully be retained.

Some data may remain temporarily in technical backups until the applicable deletion cycle is complete. Google and Cloudflare may process data on infrastructure outside Vietnam in accordance with applicable law.

GVocab works to protect your data, but no electronic transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Within the scope provided by law, you may request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, restriction or objection to processing, data provision and complaint handling.

You can edit or delete much of your learning content directly in the app. For account deletion or rights without a self-service tool, contact GVocab through the official support channel.

GVocab may verify account ownership to protect data. Requests are handled within the time and conditions required by applicable law; GVocab will explain if it cannot fulfill all or part of a request for a lawful reason.

GVocab is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from this group.

Minors must obtain parental or guardian consent where required by law. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided inappropriate personal data, contact GVocab for assistance.

GVocab may update this Privacy Policy when features, technology, service providers or legal requirements change. The latest version is published on the website with its update date.

For material changes affecting privacy, GVocab will provide notice or request additional consent where required by law.
